🌊 This Week’s Ride: Barefoot Captain & The Swamp Symphony

One of our most requested captains needs no introduction—because you’ll spot him before he even steps on the boat. That’s right, our Barefoot Captain is known for navigating the Florida swamp like he was born in it, no shoes required! From the moment you board, you’re in for a ride filled with thrills, nature, and some of the best storytelling on the water.

🐊 Gator Close-Ups & Sunbathing Birds

On this particular ride, we glided through the swamp’s winding canals, passing thick blankets of duckweed-covered water. Suddenly, the boat slowed—two large alligators were sunning themselves on the bank, too cozy to move. We inched forward, giving everyone on board a perfect shot of their prehistoric snouts, only a few inches from the boat. Meanwhile, the “Jesus birds” (a.k.a. jacanas) dashed across the water like they were walking on air.

🦅 The Buzzard Wake-Up Call

As we entered the famous Tunnel of Love, a pack of over 100 buzzards suddenly took flight. According to our captain, they’d just finished their “breakfast” and were heading off to scout for the next meal (which they can smell from five miles away—talk about a strong nose!). The sudden burst of wings over the water was like something out of a movie.
